Animals and Nature
Harpur Hill children love learning about nature and animals. Here are some websites and suggested activities.
The World Wild Life Fund has two websites:
Suitable for older children: https://www.wwf.org.uk/
Children can research endangered animals and deforestation. You could design a poster about climate change or a fact file about an animal.
Suitable for younger children: https://gowild.wwf.org.uk/
There are lots of fun animal activities including a shoe box safari on this website.
British Birds - the RSPB has a great website for kids, including online games and activities:
https://www.rspb.org.uk/fun-and-learning/for-kids/
Children could create a report about a bird or a poster about British birds.
You could keep a tally of the number of birds found in your garden and put your findings into a graph.
Story Writing:
Mystery story – watch an episode of Scooby Doo or similar and write your own mystery story.
Historical Story - watch an episode of Horrible Histories (available on BBC iplayer) and write a diary as if you are a character from history.
